Marketing the Healthy Transportation Network: Promoting Biking and Walking to Local Elected Officials Statewide

Jeffery Rosenhall, California Center for Physical Activity

To promote biking and walking statewide, the Healthy Transportation Network strives to help local officials make significant improvements to the built environment in their communities. Jeffery Rosenhall will share the key ideas that formed the Healthy Transportation Network social marketing plan, as well as discuss key project issues that have arisen and how the program has had to be flexible and adaptable in its outreach. As the program has evolved, project staff has had to modify and adjust outreach efforts to successfully engage local electeds and get Healthy Transportation Network technical assistance projects moving.
